I doodled this the other day, and seeing as how RED is the only colour I used (red col-erase in fact) I think it counts.

I did this at the beginning of May. It's supposed to be Don Knotts, although I didn't quite nail the likeness. It was done as a tribute I think about a week after he died.

Under the sea is COMING, I swear, it got a little out of hand, I went a bit too far, and now it's become a small painting. I would have had it finished, but life got in the way. It's coming along, just VERY slowly. In the mean time, I bring you FAT:

The colours didn't scan well, it's actually much more toned down in real life. Much greyer, bt I can't seem to fix it in photoshop, so I've given up.

OOh, I missed last week, darn, exams bite, I hate studying for boring stuff. grr. I don't know if I'll gat around to doing this weeks or not, so this is a school assignment.

The theme for school was cowboy. So I did a Robot cowboy....and a regular cowboy...

Please excuse the shitty scan, it's cut off a bit because I'm too lazy to do two scans and patch them together.

oh, and I may as well post other robot stuff I've done, because I HEART robots.

I probably should just post some of my doodles from the Anatomy labs at UofT, they're pretty damn scary. I've decided that I'm not a fan of severed limbs and torsoes with wrapped up heads on tables. And the stench is unbelievable.

Alrighty, it seems that Blogger is having an aneurysm about posting this stupid picture, and I can't figure out why, as I have tried it like, 4 or 5 different ways. So here's hoping this works.

I'm trying to keep up with illsutration Friday, it's getting harder, as school is winding to a close, and the projects are piling high, but I'll make it!! And then I'm going to take a week off from work, because after that I have to find a second job, and work everyday of the week!! The reason being that I'm trying to move out next year, because I can't stand the commute. But I'm soooooo poor, So I have to save all summer in hopes of being able to afford rent for most of the year. We haven't even really found a place yet, not one that isn't WAY too much money with not enough rooms to stuff people in.

Hmmm, simple.... I'm cheating this time, and pulling something outta my old files, because I haven't had time to do anything in a while, and I'm feelin a bit guilty.........

Anyways, I did this flower for class last semester. it was just supposed to be a line drawing, which I found out afterwards had to be in black ink, so I cheated and scanned it and greyscaled it. I told my prof I did it on a random scrap of paper that I didn't think was presentable. which she bought, and gave me an A, so all's right with the world. but I still like the colour version better.

SO, It's uh...been a while. and I have nothing for illo friday, how sad. I have to try harder to do that shit. I think it's important. What I DO have, however, are some of my favourite pictures from my sketchbook that I have to keep for class. Observational drawings ONLY, no doodles, which is sad, I love to doodle.

This last one was for my illustration 2 class. It's supposed to be two contasting ideas in one unified piece. so I did the stereotypical beauty vs ugliness. I suppose it woulc also be taken as the natural vs the manmade. DAMN! that would have been so good to tell my prof! He would have thought I was deep! dammit....eeergh. I bet I would have gotten a better mark.

Tee hee, I like drawing pictures of girls making funny faces, but like not on purpose. Did you know that you make faces like these ALL the time, in fact, have someone take a picture of you while you're talking. It's quite marvelous. This may be a bit of a stretch, but I think it fits the theme, this chick is free, no inhibitions, no pose, exactly how nature intended for us to look (silly). Or you could say, Britt, you're full o' shit, and leave it at that.

One O' my profs said I draw like an animator, and it's been making me think lately that when I think of ideas for illustrations, they're always moving in my head, so I always want to do sequentials... maybe I was meant to be an animator. Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever figure out what I really want to be, I keep flip flopping. The next thing I know I'll want to be a ballerina again...

Aaaaanyway, This was part of a full page. Which to the untrained eye, will look like a bunch of nonsense, but don't fret, it IS a bunch of nonsense.

Hot Diggety! Illustration friday: Strength

So this is a little ditty for class, I tried to link it to a bigger picture I don't know if it worked, I'm still figuring blogger out. Anyway, this image is called "Burn the British with a Cow" which is Diner-Speak code for a buttered and toasted english muffin. This was so far the best assignment I've ever had in my entire school career. And that's most of my life. I'm also using it as my contribution to this weeks illustration friday. I mean really, look at that cow, his strength and resolve not to even notice that he's being burnt at the stake....

I had a lovely comment on my last post asking if I had a link to bigger pictures, and the answer is: nnnnnnnnnyes! I almost tricked you! anyhoo, night, and doodle. Neither of them are anything special, just doodles really, and slightly frightening ones. And that beautiful magenta pen is a fine tip felty-like marker made by Staedtler. It's called the Triplus fineliner. That link is to the Canadian website, but I'm sure they sell them on the american site too.

And while I'm at it, I may as well post this absolutely ridiculous doodling that occurred in my notebook. Everything in dark pink occurred on Nov 3rd like it says, but the light pink and brown happened only yesterday, I figured there's not point in wasting paper when I barely have anything...well...to write anyways.
